Trying to Survive Baby Colic?
There Is A Way To Stop the Screaming and Get Your Sanity Back

Hi there,
First of all, congratulations on the newborn. Babies are a blessing but they also come with a whole package of challenges. It’s tough enough trying to adjust your life to caring for new baby, having to deal with colic just makes it almost unbearable. When the screaming starts, everything good about parenting just flies out the door. You go through all sorts of emotions: worry, anger, frustration, depression, exhaustion, helplessness. I know how you feel. Nothing quite gets to you like a baby who just can’t stop crying.
Watch this video to see how Colic Calm stops this baby from crying.

If your baby is crying too much and you believe it is colic, there are several colic remedies you can try. If only there was one sure-fire solution. Unfortunately there isn’t. Eventually, it comes down to you, as a parent, doing your best for your baby and hoping you find a method (or methods) that work. I’ve compiled here a list of things you can do to reduce (and hopefully stop) the colic. It’s from advice and experience of mothers everywhere.

When I saw this infant recliner, I thought to myself: “Wow, looks so comfy.” It reclines at a 30 degree angle which makes it great for babies with reflux, gas, stuffiness, colic and ear infections. It’s made from high-density polyurethane foam. The liner is machine washable and waterproof. You can strap baby in. It is light so it is easily portable. And it comes in beautiful colors and patterns.

You could say this is one of my sanity-savers. When baby gets really cranky and can’t be calmed down, I whip out this sling and wrap her unto me. She calms down pretty quickly and then falls blissfully asleep. Of all the slings I’ve used, this one doesn’t give me a backache. I use it when I go grocery shopping. Carrying a 6kg baby for almost 2 hours is no joke. Anyway, it works really well for my little K. She’s snug as a bug in it and I like how it stops the crying.

Swaddling.

White noise – noise from hair dryer, vacuum cleaner, car engine, or washing machine.

Soothing sounds like water running or nature sounds washing. You can try humming too.

Gripe water. If you want to try Colic Calm or want to learn more about it, click this affiliate link of mine: Colic Calm. Personally I haven’t tried it myself. Reading it’s reviews online, some people report that it works, some say it doesn’t. Just so you know, it’s black. So you might want to be extra careful when feeding it to baby so you don’t stain baby’s clothes. Some parents also report how baby’s poo turns black after consuming it. If for some reason Colic Calm doesn’t work for your baby, just send it back within 30 days of shipment and get a full refund.

Rhythmic rocking.

Gentle bouncing.

Gas drops such as Mylicon or Little Tummy’s.

Baby wearing – put baby in a sling. HugaMonkey slings are easy to use. I like the stretchy fabric. Click here to read the review: HugAMonkey Baby Sling review.

Baby massage.
Put baby tummy down on your thigh and pat baby’s back. Another option is to put a rolled up blanket/towel under baby’s tummy.

Put something warm on baby’s tummy like a warm towel or warm water bottle. Be careful that it’s not too hot and burns baby’s skin.

Chammomile tea.

Try different ways to hold baby. Maybe baby prefers a more upright position.

Doing bicycle kicks with baby’s legs.

Holding baby’s legs together, lift the legs up, pushing the knees up to baby’s tummy. Go up and down like a pumping motion. (Personally, this works really well for my baby. She quietens down and I get a few farts out of her).

If you are breastfeeding, take baby off the breast when you are having a let-down. Your milk may be flowing too fast then and baby is gulping down air.

Make sure you burp baby sufficiently.

Use a baby swing.

Breastfeeding mothers have to watch what they eat. You may notice that baby gets colic when you eat certain foods. Notable culprits include cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, spicy foods, dairy, caffeine drinks and wheat.

Check to see if it could be Gastroesophageal reflux (GER).

It could be due to a food allergy. Some babies cannot take cow’s milk based formula. Switching to a hypoallergenic formula could be the answer in this case.

Homeopathic remedies such as iBaba. Click this affiliate link for more info on iBaba for Baby Colic

Some people like the book, some don’t. Click on the link to read a review on the book.

Give baby a pacifier to suck.

Give baby a warm bath. Have you heard of the TummyTub? Funniest thing I’ve seen. They put baby in this bucket filled with warm water and baby sits inside all curled up. Click this affiliate link to see what it’s about: TummyTub Baby Bath

Take baby to a chiropracter for adjustments.

Rub antiflatulence oil. Malaysians like to use a brand called YuYi. The latin Americans and Filipinos like to use Chamomile Oil – Aceite De Manzanilla . Rub some on your hands then gently massage onto baby’s tummy.

Hyland’s Colic Tablets. They are soft tablets that dissolves quickly. Good reviews that say it works quickly to calm baby down.

For bottle-fed babies, many parents have given the thumbs up for Dr. Brown bottles.

Ebooks such as Curing Colic. Unfortunately after reading the e-book, I was kinda disappointed. The sales page mentions that it’s a clinically researched system but the ideas are quite typical colic recommendations and advice. You would probably have better luck trying Colic Calm or iBaba. If you are looking for good books, try the following. They come highly recommended:
