We have done fire drills in past with our kids to make sure they understand that when the fire alarm goes off or if they ever see smoke or fire in the house they are to run outside and meet us at the mailbox. Our kids love the drills, and we feel more confident that we’re ready for an emergency should one come.

We also have at least a one year food supply on hand in case of an extended emergency. I endorse the ideas shared in this article about being ready, and I add my experience that following theses principles adds confidence to the household.

Yup, definately thumb sucking affected my teeth. Mum resorted to using some bitter concoction on my thumb to stop my habit but it was too late. I developed bucked tooth that I could not purse my lips shut, sigh! So my parents took me to the orthodontist to fit me with braces at the age of 12 for 3 yrs. It was not widely used at that time unlike these days where it’s a fashion statement (I’m 43 now) and got a lot of teasing from my classmates esp the boys calling me ‘metal teeth’.

Any how, I’m married to a dentist (he told me good thing I had my teeth straightened as otherwise he would not have married me as ours was an arranged marriage, LOL!)
